Spacca Napoli was born from our lifelong friendship and a dream we shared on university drives from Port Moody to UBC—to one day open the best pizzeria in Vancouver. Danny’s father owned the beloved Casa Del Pane and Italia Bakery, while Davide was deeply rooted in Vancouver’s Italian food scene.

Though we pursued careers in other fields, pizza was always our passion. We installed wood-burning ovens in our backyards, began testing recipes, and made yearly trips to Italy to refine our craft. In 2016, we opened Spacca Napoli—not as a hobby, but as a way to bring true Neapolitan pizza to the Tri-Cities.

From day one, we’ve stayed hands-on in the kitchen, never compromising authenticity. Our ingredients are top-tier: DOP EVOO, San Marzano tomatoes, 00 flour from Italy, and dough fermented for 48 hours. What we don’t make from scratch, we source locally.

Our staff include pizzaioli straight from Italy. They don’t just make pizza—they carry a living tradition, treating every pizza with skill and reverence. That authenticity sets us apart. We treat pizza-making as an art—there’s no dial on our oven, just flame, feel, and instinct.

One of our signature touches? Scissors. In Napoli, pizzas are sliced in four with elegant knives. Here, we import scissors from Europe to preserve that experience—ensuring every slice stays intact, as it should be.

In 2024, we made history as the first and only Canadian pizzeria to receive all three “spicchi” of Tre Spicchi designation from Gambero Rosso, the world's authority on Italian food, wine and travel. Established in 1986, it is recognized throughout Italy and internationally as the provider of the most cutting edge, impartial and expert insights into 'saper vivere', the Italian way of life. With three "spicchi", we are the only pizzeria in Canada with the highest quality rating, ranking in the top 1% of pizzerias worldwide
